Paisley's Pets

Paisley owners, Derek and Kirsten, have become hobby farmers, with a small menagerie of pets on their Angaston property.

While vineyard covers 16 acres, the rest of the property includes their home and a paddock, which is home to the sheep. The paddock overlooks the beautiful Sunset block, with views of the Barossa.

Kirsten and Derek love their pets – some are very helpful in the vineyard and some are just cute! Scroll down to meet Paisley’s pets.

Paisley's Pets, Lolly the Lamb stands in the Paisley vineyard.

the sheep

Kirsten and Derek started out with a few sheep and now have a mini flock. The sheep help to keep the grass down in the winter months. They also helpfully put some manure back into the ground as they walk up and down the rows. In summer they spend their time in the top paddock, as they are very naughty and will eat the grapes!

Flora the wonder-cat

The Cat

Sadly we lost one of our cats recently but Flora the wonder-cat is still with us. She is a shy but sweet cat.

She loves a cuddle on a cold night and loves the fluffy rug on the couch.

Paisley's Pets, the chooks

The Chooks

The chooks at Paisley generally do a good job of producing enough eggs for the family, however they are very good at digging up plants, so are now banned from the garden. Meet Truffle and Lulu, two of our chooks who love to peck at the insects and scraps in their pen.

They love a good pat!

Paisley's Pets, the guinea fowl on top of their coop.

The guinea Fowl

The guinea fowl are a very cute but noisy addition to the Paisley vineyard. Noisy you ask? Yes!

Definitely do not recommend in a suburban environment!

These pretty bird love to wander around the Town Block and dig holes in the dirt on hot days. They are game birds so won’t let you give them a pat.
